This is where the old Bankruptcy Court used to be [just behind my right shoulder somewhere], hence the old expression for being broke or bankrupt "being in Queer Street". Note the large number of telephone boxes for placing all those, "Hello.... I'm afraid I'm in a spot of bother..." phone calls made in desperation to rich friends and relatives.
